Health and Safety Considerations

When filming we had to think of multiple health and safety considerations that we will come across when we are filming our trailer, we also had to think of ways to resolve them.

Alcohol:-

We will be using alcohol bottles throughout our film trailer, but as we are under the legal age limit (18) we will be using empty bottles and will be using them with water instead of the alcohol that comes with it. This is because alcohol has some serious side effects that could be life threatening if abusing, it could cause harm to our actor as he will be unaware of his surroundings and could result in him injuring himself or others.

Broken Glass:-

To the left, I have created a video explaining all the ways we protected ourselves when we had to smash a glass bottle. It includes an explanation of what we did and also live scenes of us explaining to the camera of how we did it.

I have added a link that everyone has to follow by law. http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/law.pdf

Film and social media

Films often create awareness through advertising the company or the film on social network websites. Using social network is a form of below the line advertising which is cheap, quick and easy to use. It has been used for both large production and individually made films.

How awareness is made

- Following/subscribing - people who like the content will sign up to the account to see all posts as they are sent

- Liking - people show the account owners what they like/ want to see more of by liking the photo/post

- Commenting - allows the account holder to receive feedback from anyone on the website, both positive and negative, as this is received directly from members of the target market it can help improve the film especially if it is from a smaller production company

- Sharing/reblogging - followers and people who see your account share it with others who don't, therefore creating a wider audience (allowing the posts to be seen worldwide)

- Key words - especially used on Twitter with the use of a # these can create trends which are seen worldwide and are often popular discussion topics

Three of the most popular social media websites of 2013 include Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Filming Complications

Over the Christmas holidays we had scheduled to film on the 2nd and 3rd January, but unfortunately we were unable to film. This is because we had complications with our actress as she become unavailable at the time we needed her to film. We then cast a new actress, but at the last minute she cancelled as she became very ill. To resolve this we have created a new film schedule with a new actress who is available on the day that we want to film.

We were also unable to film during the days that we wanted to, because all trains in and out of London were cancelled due to severe weather storms and flooding. We have included a print screen of one of the news articles written about the storms:
